Spider Athletics announces new video card at Robins Stadium
RICHMOND, Virginia – The University of Richmond athletics department has announced that the Spiders will be installing a new state-of-the-art LED video card at Robins Stadium for the 2021 fall football season.
The new LED video card will replace the original video card at Robins Stadium that was installed when it opened in 2010. The new card will include video across the entire board, measuring 60 feet wide and nearly 28 feet. tall and overlapping on the current footprint of the video card. The video card will run at 1800×828 pixels and with a pixel pitch of 10 millimeters of spacing on a full LED.
The Daktronics video card will be configured for multiple uses throughout a game. From traditional video replays, stats and sponsorships implemented in an engaging way, fans will be treated to a full presentation using the media player Daktronics DMP-8000 digital and Show Control system.
The stadium on the University’s campus was named E. Claiborne Robins Stadium in 2009 when it opened and has been rated one of the best stadiums in all of FCS Football. Daktronics’ new LED video card continues recent facility updates which included the new AstroTurf and Beynon Track facility in 2019.
The Spiders are scheduled to open the fall 2021 season on September 4 against Howard in the first of six home games this fall at Robins Stadium.
