SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) – A family from Sioux Falls will make their national television debut this Thursday in the popular game show “Family Feud”.
The show was taped earlier, so today we had the chance to sit down with a few of them to hear their experiences and get details on their “Good Answer” night before.
“From Sioux Falls, South Dakota, it’s the Zomer family,” said Family Feud host Steve Harvey.
The Zomer family from Sioux Falls will appear in the Family Feud game show this Thursday on KELOxtra.
So how did they do it?
“We have sworn to keep it a secret, and besides it will be better to watch it, we gave up our lives, we can’t say anything until it airs,” Damon said.
But they shared a glimpse of what it’s like to appear on a national game show.
“It was scary and exciting at the same time, with all the cameras in your face and knowing you had to be spot on with your responses and your excitement with Steve Harvey and the music,” Myra said.
Family Feud is a game show in which two families compete to name the most popular responses to survey questions in order to win cash and prizes.
“I will say answering questions is a lot different from what I expected. Cierra said.
Because you have to answer quickly, I asked them if there were any embarrassing answers?
“Oh yeah, I wish we could have some redo, embarrassing, inappropriate, they’re all coming towards you,” Damon said.
The shoot was done in Atlanta and the Zomer family say it was two 12 hour days filled with rehearsals ……
“They wanted you to do whatever you were going to do during the show, they wanted you to do it during rehearsals in the morning,” Damon said.
… ..And recordings, most of which viewers will never see.
“There was a lot of downtime and just a lot of waiting,” Cierra said.
“Yeah, it’s different from what you expect when you watch the show, much more,” said Damon.
The Zomers are hosting a viewing party tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Military Heritage Alliance.
They want family and friends to stop by and watch the feud at 4 p.m. on KELOxtra.
